City Approves Jankowski Settlement

September 9, 2013 Updated Sep 9, 2013 at 10:13 PM CST

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --The Duluth City Council approved a settlement Monday night in the ongoing legal battle between the city and two preachers.

Steve Jankowski and Peter Scott, a Jankowsi follower, sued the city of Duluth, saying his rights were violated when he was told to stop preaching at Bentleyville in 2010.

The city claims Jankowski's style of preaching was disturbing to the community and made those attending the festival at Bayfront Park, uncomfortable.

The $177,500 settlement will cover attorney fees.
