Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The free speech lawsuit involving Duluth's holiday light show, Bentleyville, is back in the spot light.
On Thursday, Duluth city councilors will convene a Committee of the Whole, in a closed session, to discuss the status of a lawsuit brought by Steve Jankowski, a lay preacher and Peter Scott, a member of his congregation.
The city has been trying to reach an agreement with the preachers' lawyers on how to handle the situation, but has not been successful so far.
Unless the two sides come to an agreement, a judge will decide the course of action on July 24.
Last December a judge ruled in favor of the two preachers, saying Duluth police asked the men to leave Bentleyville, violating their rights to share their views on public property, including on the grounds of Bentleyville.
