Carlton Co., MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - An accomplice in the double murder inside a Carlton County home in January of 2011 will avoid a jury trial.
In a plea agreement Friday, 26-year-old Rachel Defoe pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder for her involvement in the killings of Thomas Holm and Kim Schmitz.
Meanwhile, Joshua Martineau will spend 40 years behind bars after his guilty plea in March to two counts of unintentional second degree murder.
Sentencing for Defoe is scheduled for September 21st.
