Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The DTA will be detouring bus routes during the Tower Avenue construction in Superior due to areas being closed off to traffic.
Construction is slated to start on Monday, April 15 and the road will be closed between Third Street and Belknap Avenue. The DTA will detour its Route #16 and Route #17 buses in the downtown Superior area during this time. The detour is expected to continue into the fall.
The detour routing is as follows:
Route #16 from Duluth:
Buses run regular route to Broadway and Ogden Avenue, then detour south along Ogden Avenue to Belknap, east on Belknap and continue on regular routing.
Route #16 to Duluth:
Buses run regular route to Belknap and Ogden Avenue, then detour north on Ogden Avenue to Broadway, east on Broadway and continue on regular routing.
Routes #17 - #17B - #17S from downtown Superior:
Buses will run from Ogden Avenue and Broadway, south on Ogden Avenue to Belknap, west on Belknap to Tower Avenue, south on Tower Avenue and continue on regular route.
Routes #17 - #17B - #17S to downtown Superior:
Buses will run regular route to Tower Avenue and Belknap, then east on Belknap to Ogden Avenue, north on Ogden Avenue to Broadway.
Temporary bus stops will be placed along Ogden Avenue, with transfers in downtown Superior between #16 and #17 buses to occur at Ogden Avenue and 14th Street.
The DTA does not anticipate any major delays in service during the detour.
