Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Pawn shops in Duluth won't have to say no to pawn transactions on Sundays anymore thanks to a vote from the Duluth City Council.

The council approved an ordinance that allows pawn shops within the city to participate in pawn and loan transactions on Sundays.

Pawn America, who called for the change, already does regular business transactions on Sunday, and says the previous ban on Sunday loan transactions was inconvenient for their customers.

Other city pawn shops, which are closed on Sundays, aren't happy with the decision, however, saying the move will only take crucial business transactions away from them.

The council voted 8 to 1 in favor of the ordinance with Councilor Gardner voting to oppose the measure.
