Duluth Man Charged with Attempted Murder

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Duluth man has been charged with second degree attempted murder after he allegedly slashed another man's throat in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on Monday.

39-year-old Aaron Humphreyshas also been charged first degree assault and two charges of second degree assault in connection to the incident.

Authorities responded to the call of a stabbing along the 1800 block of West Superior Street in Duluth around midnight on Monday.

They say a 29-year-old man was slashed on the neck during an altercation with Humphreys.

The victim was taken to Essentia Health St Mary's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say it appears the victim and the suspect know each other.

Humphreys is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on $100,000 bond.

His next court appearance is scheduled for July 31.
