Duluth Man Charged with Drug Possession Again

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A 45 year old Duluth man with numerous felony convictions has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Andrew Wayne Clarke of Duluth has been charged with 2nd degree possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, 3rd degree possession of cocaine/heroin/meth, 3rd degree sale of a controlled substance and obstructing legal process following an investigation into Clarke by multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to police, investigators from the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms had information that Clarke was allegedly in possession of heroin.

Authorities executed a search warrant on Tuesday, October 2nd on Clarke and found 10 individually wrapped pieces of crack.

The total weight of the packaging and crack cocaine was 5.7 grams.

Investigators also found a paper bindle that contained 1.5 grams of heroin.

Back in September, Clarke was also arrested by drug investigators for two outstanding St. Louis County Warrants for 3rd Degree Controlled Substance Crimes.

During that arrest, officers allegedly found 8.3 grams of heroin on Clarke. Clarke was charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree possession of a controlled substance for that arrest.

Clarke posted bail for the charges in September.

Clarke is now back in the St. Louis County Jail for the latest charges following the October 2nd arrest.

Burglary in the Second Degree – 1985
Offering a Forged Check – 1985
Controlled Substance Crime in the First Degree (twice)
Fourth Degree Assault – 2006
Fifth Degree Possession of Controlled Substance – 2007
Identity Theft – 2008
Fifth Degree Possession of Controlled Substance – 2008
Theft from a Person – 2010
