Duluth Police arrest two suspects in connection with 2012 fatal stabbing

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal stabbing from December 2012.

On December 21st, 2012, Duluth Police responded to the 10 Block of East 7th Street on reports of a victim with a life threatening stab wound.

The victim was 54-year-old Kevin John Tyman of Duluth.

Tyman, later died from his injury at Essentia/St. Mary's hospital.

On Thursday, Duluth Police arrested 32-year old, Joella Tucker of Duluth and 42-year-old Raymond Weeks of Two Harbors on warrants stemming from the stabbing.

Both Tucker and Weeks have been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Second Degree Murder.

Police say they are glad to bring some answers to the Tyman family.

"We are very pleased with our staff, our staff never gave up on this one. We worked very, very hard, tireless hours on this case, even more pleased for the family. I had conversation with the victims brother here just about an hour and very happy to be able to give the family some good news that they are closer to getting justice for the murder of their brother."

Police tell us they don't know the exact the relationship between the suspects and the victim, but believe the inicident was not a random act.

According to Police, both Tucker and Weeks will make their initial appearance in St. Louis County court tomorrow on the charges.
