Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Duluth School Superintendent Bill Gronseth released a statement Friday following the shootings in Newtown, CT.
"ISD 709 is shocked and saddened by the tragic shooting that took place today in Connecticut. Our hearts and minds are with those involved in this terrible event," Gronseth wrote. "We want to assure our families and community that student safety is of utmost importance in our district. We take many precautions each day, from use of building security systems, to partnering with the Duluth Police Department, to practicing what to do in the event of an emergency and many others. We also appreciate everything parents and the citizens of Duluth do to promote safety in our schools."
