Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Duluth Manufacturers hope the attention that a "Made in the USA" label is getting from the US Senate will make its way into the Olympic arena this winter.

Duluth Pack Director of Sales and Marketing Molly Solberg says a recent revelation caused controversy among US athletes competing in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, in Sochi.

The athletes' mittens were being made, for profit, in China.

Since then, Solberg says there's been a push to have all American athletes wear gear made in the USA.

"It's all a part of a movement that's very important," said Solberg. "We get phone call after phone call saying I want an American–made Christmas this year, and I'm coming down to the Duluth Pack store. [It's a] one–stop shop for everything you need for the holidays that's American–made, Minnesota–made, Duluth–made."

Solberg says Duluth Pack would be more than willing to become a part of the mitten making team for the US athletes, and that over a century of experience would agree.
