Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Family and close friends are remembering a man who gave his time right up until he passed away this afternoon.

We met David Heyser in December as he rang the bell for the Salvation Army in the lobby of the Benedictine Health Center.

The former Marine and Presbyterian minister didn't let terminal cancer get the best of him, as he continued his mission to raise money for the organization in his 13th year.

Heyser was 78-years-old and in survived by his wife Marcia and children.
