Father killed, children seriously hurt after Itasca Co. crash

Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) - One person is dead and three others seriously hurt following a car crash on Highway 2 near Swan River Friday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a Ford Fusion driven by 67-year-old Alice Lemcke of Bigfork, MN lost control and crossed the center line and hit a Ford Mustang, sending it into a ditch.

The driver of the Mustang, 38-year-old Aeron Hammargren of Apple Valley, MN was killed. His children, a 12 and 13-year-old along with the driver of the Ford Fusion were seriously injured.

Everyone was taken to Essentia Health St.Mary's Hospital.

The State Patrol says the road conditions were icy at the time.
