Federal Prison Camp Escapee Pleads Guilty

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- One of two inmates who escaped from the Federal Prison Camp in Duluth in March pleaded guilty Thursday.

64-year-old Michael Krzyzaniak appeared in United States District Court in Minneapolis on charges of escaping custody and admitted to leaving the prison camp on March 30 without authorization.

Krzyzaniak and 67-year-old Gerald Greenfield were apprehended at a hotel in Burnsville six days after they escaped they federal prison camp.

Krzyznaiak was already serving a 12 year sentence for wire fraud and tax evasion.

He could face another five years in prison for the escaping custody charge which will be added to his current sentence.
