Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Whether you're reigniting your passion for the medium, or perhaps looking to finally into it, then the first Saturday of May was the day to do it.

We're talking about Free Comic Day, which is celebrated by participating comic book and collector's stores nationwide.

Now in its 13th year, the event participants dole out special single issues often made specifically for Free Comic Day to promote reading among kids, get new people into the realm of comic books, and, of course, have fun.

Rogue Robot Games and Comics clerk Tyler Anderson says the allure of the medium is still strong, even with the changes that have come throughout the years.

"They're one of my favorite mediums," said Anderson, "they're a great storytelling device. The art is more a less usually beautiful."

People were allowed to take up to three free comics made for the special event from Rouge Robot on Saturday.
