Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- In a random act of kindness, hundreds of people received free gas while pulling up to the pump Saturday.

At the Holiday Station at the corner of Arrowhead Road and Rice Lake Road, Eastridge Community Church members passed out 400, $5 gas coupons.

Organizers of the giveaway say the no-stings-attached gift to the public will help ease some of the pain at the pump during a summer with record high prices.

"For us, as a congregation, we've been blessed and so we've decided to just go give away our finances to the community and show some love to Duluth," said Pastor Tom Ashbury.

This is the 2nd year the congregation has given away free gas.
