Fungal meningitis cases linked to tainted steroids have risen to eight people in the state of Minnesota.

The state of Michigan has the highest amount of cases at 80 people; including five deaths.

There is a total of 328 cases and 24 deaths across the nation.

Federal investigators have been looking into whether other products from the implicated pharmacy were also affected.

The steroid injections were manufactured at the New England Compounding Center - which has since suspended operations.
