St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- To celebrate winning the WNBA Championship for the second time in three years, Governor Mark Dayton has declared today "Minnesota Lynx Day".
Last Thursday, the Lynx defeated the Atlanta Dream by a score of 86-77 to win the WNBA Championship. The Lynx also swept the Dream during the championship series. The team completed the regular season with the best record in the WNBA for the third consecutive year with a 26-8 record.
To recognize the achievements of the team, Governor Dayton has declared today, Monday, October 14, 2013, as “Minnesota Lynx Day”.
The team paraded through Minneapolis this morning to celebrate bringing home the Championship trophy followed by a rally at the Target Center this afternoon.
