Governor Dayton said Friday that the revised budget he will release next week will not include a sales tax on business or consumer services.
The announcement came during the Governor's keynote address at the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast.
The Governor told the crowd of business leaders that the omission of the sales tax on commerce was in response to repeated criticism from the Minnesota business community.
A representative from the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce said they were not expecting the announcement, but were overwhelmed with excitement with the surprise declaration.
TwinWest is a business networking organization for businesses large and small in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities.
