Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) - We're not in Kansas anymore.
Grand Rapids attempted to set a world record Friday night, all part of the 75th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz.
1,150 people dressed up as their favorite characters including Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Lion, the Scarecrow and the Wicked Witch.
The record breaking attempt, which called for people to dress up and be in the same location for five minutes, far surpassed the current record, 466 people.
The event capped off a week-long celebration of the ageless classic and what would have been Judy Garland's 92nd birthday.
Organizers plan to submit documentation to the Guinness Book of World Records, to make it official.
