Itasca County, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Grand Rapids man appeared in court Monday for a pre–trial hearing on five counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Frist Degree.

The Itasca County Attorney says the charges stem from allegations of a series of sexual assaults by Devin Michael Wood against a 15–year–old girl, who is a resident of the North Homes Juvenile Correctional Facility in Grand Rapids, where Wood was a correctional officer.

The sexual assaults are alleged to have taken place between April 10th and 12th, 2014. The criminal complaints state that Wood faces five counts for allegedly engaging in sexual penetration of a minor, while in a position of authority.

At the pre–trial hearing on Tuesday, July 15, the jury trial was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 7, 2014. As of late June, Wood is currently at the Itasca County Jail, and bail has been set at $50,000.
