Grand Rapids man learns punishment in stabbing incident

Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A 29-year-old Grand Rapids man will spend eight and a half years behind bars after stabbing a man in the chest.

Joshua Joseph Julien was sentenced Wednesday on a first degree assault charge in connection with the July incident.

The victim, 23-year-old Kyle William Johnson, was taken to to Essentia Health St. Mary's in Duluth hospital with stab wounds.

Julien also faced charges of attempted murder, and possession of a controlled substance, however those charges were dismissed.
