Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - A Duluth man pleaded guilty in federal court for to transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of sexual contact.
In August, Todd Franik abducted a 13 year old girl and drove her from Minnesota to Wisconsin.
According to the criminal complaint the child was walking her dog on August second in her neighborhood when she passed Franik and his car.
Franik told the girl he was having car trouble and he asked her for directions to the zoo.
He then grabbed her and put her and the dog in the trunk, according to the criminal complaint.
He reportedly drove for 20 minutes before stopping at a wooded area near Oliver, Wisconsin.
He then allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with the girl.
Franik is a convicted felon.
He has theft, burglary, and robbery convictions dating as far back as 1985.
He was also arrested for possession of a firearm, and recently broke the terms of his probation by using methamphetamine.
