Maplewood, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Authorities are investigating what caused an insect spraying helicopter to crash into a Maplewood garage, killing the pilot.

According to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the report of a crash around 8am along the 2700 Block of East 7th in Maplewood, MN.

According to our partners at KARE 11, the crash sparked a structure fire, however crews were able to knock down the flames.

One witness says that she saw the helicopter in the sky and thought it was doing a trick the way it was inverted, but it never looped around and crashed.

Other witnesses described hearing a loud, rattling noise at the time of the crash.

The FAA is investigating this crash and the cause of the incident.
