Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- No one was injured after a car crash in Hermantown on Monday that caused the closure of a major intersection in the area.

Hermantown Police responded to the accident just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Arrowhead and Haines Road.

Authorities found a pickup truck on top of a downed power pole and live power lines. The power mast was arcing on the side of Titan Machinery creating bright flashes and heavy smoke.

The downed power line completely blocked traffic on Arrowhead Road west of Haines until crews arrived to remove the downed line.

The driver of the pickup said he was driving westbound on Arrowhead and swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision with a vehicle that was traveling east on Arrowhead Road making a left hand turn onto Haines.

Public Works used temporary stop signs at all corners of the intersection until power was restored.

No injuries were reported.
