Hibbing, Minnesota -- On September 29, 2010, St. Louis County Attorney Melanie Ford announced that a St. Louis County Grand Jury in Hibbing, Minnesota, returned an indictment against Jason Mark Musburger for First Degree Murder involving the death of Edward John Walberg, Jr.

The Grand Jury also returned indictments against Musburger for Attempted Murder in the First Degree, in which Cale Steve Nelson was the victim, and Attempted Murder in the First Degree and Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, in which Larry Vernon Elj was the victim.

Additional counts in the indictment include Harassment or Stalking and Violation of a Restraining Order involving Musburger’s ex-wife, Janice Mehle, and Possession of a Pistol Without a Permit.

Musburger will be arraigned on the indictment on Friday, October 1, 2010.

He is presently being held in the St. Louis County Jail in Duluth on $3,000,000 bail.

The indictment stems from a March 6, 2010, incident in which Musburger entered Jim’s Sports Club in Chisholm carrying two pistols, and shot Walberg, Nelson and Elj.
