Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Hibbing man will spend time behind bars after damaging property with a snow plow on the Boise Forte Indian Reservation.

26-year-old Shane Simonson pleaded guilty to First Degree Criminal Damage of Property after admitting to stealing a Bois Forte Band-owned snow plow last August.

A criminal complaint states Simonson drove it into a maintenance shed and damaged the 11th hole of the casino's golf course.

Simonson will spend 18 months behind bars and pay $68,000 in restitution, the amount of damages suffered by the casino and the Bois Forte Band.

This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bois Forte Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Katharine T. Buzicky.
