Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - An injured hiker was rescued by an air boat Monday afternoon from the end of Park Point near the Wisconsin Entry.

Due to the remoteness of the area, all-terrain vehicles and the Rescue Squad's air boat were put into service, responding to a call the woman had broken her ankle and could not walk to safety.

The air boat was used to ferry the woman to Sky Harbor Airport where medical help was waiting.

According to the Captain of the Rescue Squad Tom Crosman this is the second winter of service for the air boat.

It was used extensively during last June's massive flooding.
