Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Itasca County Sheriff's Office wants to try the 17-year-old boy who allegedly led police on a high speed chase on the 4th of July as an adult.
The teen is charged with five felonies, three of them for use of deadly force against a peace officer in the Grand Rapids chase.
He's also charged with several lesser crimes.
Authorities took the suspect into custody after a high speed chase that reached speeds upward of 100 miles per hour.
One officer opened fire during the chase in an attempt to end the pursuit but no one was injured.
The court hearing was continued to Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. following Monday's petition.
