Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - According to the Saint Louis County Public Works Department, crews accelerated the bridge's rebuilding to get the Jean Duluth Road re–opened for the four thousand plus motorists who use the bridge every day.

June's record flood completely destroyed the massive culvert that had served as the location's bridge for years, and officials say the new, more traditional bridge design should greatly reduce the risk of it being washed away again.

Public Works officials say a project of this size usually takes three to four years, and to see it done in less than seven months, they say, is unheard of.
