K-Mart in Grand Rapids Receives a Bomb Threat

The K-Mart in Grand Rapids received a bomb threat at approximately 2 this afternoon.

The Grand Rapids Police Department responded to 1111 Pokegama Ave South after an employee alerted authorities that they received a phone call from an unknown individual stating a bomb had been placed inside the store.

Officers evacuated and closed the store immediately.

After conducting a thorough search the store was declared safe and reopened.

Grand Rapids Police will continue to investigate the threat.

Assisting agencies included, the Itasca County Sheriff's Department and Minnesota State Patrol.
