Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The Minnesota Ballet is hosting its 5th annual Celebrity Dance Challenge in February.
The only way to get there is practice, practice and some more practice.
12 professional dancers have paired up with local personalities, including KDLH 3 News Anchor Kevin Jacobsen.
Monday was day three of practice for Jacobsen and his dance partner, Carrie Wanamaker. They say they are well on their way to learning their entire dance as are the other contestants who face some pretty fierce competition.
"Everyone's rehearsing, all of the dancers are rehearsing," said Robert Gardner, the artistic director of Minnesota Ballet. "We have three studios, so we're taking up all our time with those and we're working around everybody's schedule obviously."
This year's dance-off will take place on Thursday February 10th at Marshall School's Auditorium. While the event is a fundraiser, organizers say it's also a chance for non-dancers to see what dancing is all about.
