Duluth, MN (Northlands NewsCenter)
-- The man accused of starting the 3rd fire at the Kozy Bar and Apartments in Duluth had his first day in court today and will respond to his charges at a later date.
Mark Starkovich has been charged with felony negligent fire, plus misdemeanor trespassing.
Duluth firefighters responded to the third fire at the Kozy in April.
The damage was estimated at well over 2,500 dollars.
Surveillance video shows what authorities say is Starkovich breaking into the laundry room of the Kozy.
It was in that room that the blaze started.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the laundry room.
In the criminal complaint, Starkovich admits to trespassing inside the Kozy and smoking marijuana while inside, but he told police he did not intentionally start the fire.
