Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- A trial date for the owner of Last Place on Earth and three other people is set for September.
A federal indictment charged owner Jim Carlson, two Last Place employees, and a former employee of 54 counts stemming for the sale of synthetic drugs.
Carlson says the court date is now set for September 16th in the Twin Cities.
The original trial was to take place in March, but Carlson says that wasn't enough time to organize their case.
"Of course we had to file for more time and by doing that I had to give up my right to a speedy trial so now it can drag on forever," said Carlson in an interview Wedsnday.
All four defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges in the indictment.
It alleges they violated several federal laws.
