Grand Rapids, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) – Lake Country Power line crews are working to restore power throughout the Grand Rapids, Kettle River and Mountain Iron service areas.
More than 1,100 Lake Country Power members are currently without power. Lightning strikes, wind in some locations, heavy rain and saturated grounds causing trees to give way into power lines are the primary causes of the outages.
All Lake Country Power line crews will remain working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
Areas affected include Big Sandy Lake (north of McGregor), areas near Grand Rapids and Mountain Iron and Orr.
Members may call the cooperative at 1-800-421-9959 for more information, or visit the Outage Center online at www.lakecountrypower.coop for a real-time outage status.
