Ely, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Governor Mark Dayton is directing the Minnesota National Guard to lend some big air power to help fight the fire.

Four Minnesota National Guard UH-60 "Blackhawk" helicopters and Army and Air National Guard Aviation support teams took off this morning from St. Paul to assist in firefighting efforts.

National Guard officials say soldiers and airmen are working together to support local fire suppression efforts.
