St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The harsh winter is prompting lawmakers to tackle potholes across Minnesota.

Representative Barb Yarusso (DFL-Shoreview) introduced legislation Wednesday that offers $15 million to help local governments repair potholes.

The legislation, a part of an omnibus transportation bill, includes $5 million from the general fund and $10 million from the trunk highway fund.

MnDOT says $15 million in pothole repairs could fill up to 50,000 additional potholes throughout the state.
