Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Imagine preforming delicate surgery on a beating heart without skipping a beat.

As impossible as it sounds, it's all in a day's work at St. Luke’s Hospital for Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Dr. Mary Boylan.

In her free time she is also "Making a Difference," promoting heart health so that you never have to see her or her operating room.

Dr. Boylan has volunteered with the American Heart Association for 20 plus years, educating Northlanders on positive lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk of heart disease.

She is also this year’s chair of the Go Red for Women Luncheon which will be held at the DECC on March 6th.
