Esko, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- North Country Ride has been serving people with special needs for more than 30 years.

It's mission is to promote personal growth and development through a connection with horses.

Volunteers say it's rewarding to see how quickly the new riders adapt.

Evan Antus, who has characteristics of autism, has been riding at the Esko facility since he was four-years-old.

"We started this because I just wanted him to enjoy what he was doing and he has just fallen in love with the animals," Erin Antus, Evan’s Mother said.

North County Ride is affiliated with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International.

All of its instructors are Path International certified.
