Man Arrested in Connection with Burglary in Thomson Township

Carlton, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A 44 year old Hibbing man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a home in Thomson Township.

According to police, the homeowner called 911 to report that he had confronted an unknown man inside his home.

When the Carlton County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene, they found that the homeowner had already detained the suspect before he called 911. Officers arrested the suspect for burglary and assault and is currently being held at the Carlton County Jail.

The suspect is waiting on formal charges for 1st degree burglary, 3rd degree assault, interference with a 911 call and criminal damage to property.

Further investigation into the suspect revealed that the man may have been involved in other burglaries in neighboring jurisdictions as well.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Office, Hibbing Police Department as well as the St. Louis County Sheriff's office are continuing to investigate the incident.
