Minnesota Officials Warn Against Use of Turbo Tax

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Minnesota Department of Revenue is warning people in the process of filing their taxes not to use products like Turbo Tax.

State officials announced Friday that Intuit, the maker of the software, has discovered multiple issues with their products

Errors have occurred when filing the property tax form as well as in the section that asks the filer if they are interested in donating $5 to a political campaign from the state's general campaign fund.

The spokesperson says the incorrect correspondence with the state does not impact the refund dollar amount.

The Department of Revenue says if the errors aren't fixed, the department will stop processing returns filed using intuit.

Recommendations:
> If you have not prepared or filed your return: File using different software product. More information

> Prepared your return using Intuit: Wait to file until Intuit communications the problems are corrected.

>Have filed using Intuit: Call Intuit at 1-(866) 888-4609

Other Intuit products include Lacerte, Intuit online & ProSeries.

A spokesperson from Intuit says officials are working with the state of Minnesota to correct a handful of errors.

Each of those who have already filed their taxes with Turbo Tax or any other Intuit program will be notified by email if they need to take action.
