The DNR and firefighters had their hands full with multiple grass fires across the Northland on Tuesday.
Firefighters say the owner of this property along U.S 2 in Solway was trying to burn off parts of a hollowed out tree before it fell over.
They say fire got out of control quickly and spread to about two acres of property.
Grand Lakes and Solway fire departments along with the DNR responded to the fire.
"The conditions are much worse than they appear, and small things can get out of hand very quickly, this is a good example of it. There was no intention of doing anything bad, but unfortunately it got away real quick," said Jim Kelley, Forestry Technition for Grand Lakes DNR.
