New Prague Students Return to Class Following Bomb Threat

New Prague, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- New Prague schools were once again on lockdown today after authorities responded to a report of a bomb threat at the middle school.

According to our partners at KARE 11, students are going back to class after a bomb threat triggered the evacuation of two buildings Thursday morning.

A message on the New Prague Area Schools website alerted parents that authorities had received a call of a bomb threat at the Middle School and the CEC building.

Superintendant Larry Kauzlarich says district staff received an email around 8:30 a.m., with a subject line that read "read or die." The email stated there were bombs around the school and would blow up in 30 minutes.

All Middle School students were evacuated to the Ice Arena. Police searched the facility, found nothing, and gave the all-clear shortly before 10 a.m.

The bomb threat comes just one day after the New Prague schools were on lockdown following the report of an active shooter in one of the buildings.

Authorities determined that call was a hoax and took a 12 year old student into custody.

According to KARE 11, that student is expected in Scott County court today for a bail hearing.
