Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Department of Health has lifted 'No Water Contact' advisories Wednesday for multiple Northland beaches. The department had issued these advisories Tuesday.
'No Water Contact' advisories are no longer in place for the following beaches:
Grand Marais Campground Beach, Twin Points Public Access Beach, Bluebird Landing Beach, Brighton Beach, 42nd Avenue East Beach, Lakewalk Beach, Agate Bay Beach, Lester River Beach, Minnesota Point Harborside/15th Street Beach and Clyde Avenue Boat Landing Beach.
'No Water Contact' advisories remain in place as of Thursday for the following beaches:
Lakewalk East/16th Avenue East Beach, Leif Erikson Park Beach and at the Sky Harbor Parking Lot Beach.
Recent testing reveals elevated E. coli bacteria levels and the possible presence of fecal contamination.
If anyone becomes ill after contact with beach water, should notify the Minnesota Department of Health (1–877) 366–3455.
