Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- One of the North Shore's gems is shutting down.
Nokomis Restaurant along Scenis Highway 61 will be closing its doors on October 28th after the lunch service that day.
Rondi Erickson, the business manager of the restaurant, says that she is retiring and will have to close down the restaurant.
Erickson says an e-mail was sent out to customers who signed up for the restaurant's newsletter, announcing the closure.
Erickson says the past seven years of running the restaurant have been wonderful and she will be sad to leave it behind.
Loyal customers of the restaurant have called and written Nokomis saying they are sad to see the restaurant close and wishing Erickson the best during her retirement.
The restaurant's facility will go up for sale or lease after it closes down later this month.
Nokomis restaurant opened in October of 2005.
The restaurant offers classical cuisine dishes as well as twists on old favorites. The restaurant has its own wine bar that offers beers, liqueurs and wines from smaller vineyards.
