Solway Township, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Authorities have released the names of the two people killed in a car crash along Highway 194 in Solway Township Tuesday afternoon.

29 year old Lon-Lee Lindquist of Cloquet, MN and 46 year old Troy Berens of Floodwood, MN both died when the pick-up truck they were driving in collided with a drilling rig.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident happened just after 3:30 Tuesday afternoon on Highway 194 just east of Burquist Road in Solway Township.

Authorities say a well drilling rig traveling westbound on 194 collided with an eastbound pick up truck.

The state patrol says that it appears that the drilling rig suffered a tire malfunction, causing the driver to veer into the eastbound lane at which point he struck the pick-up truck head on. Both vehicles continued into the south ditch off of 194.

"The tragedy is this afternoon we had another fatal crash where two people lost their lives," said Captain Steve Stromback with the Minnesota State Patrol.

61-year-old Craig Sunnaborg of Esko, the driver of well drilling rig, was seriously hurt in the crash.
