Carlton, MN (NNCNOW.com) - If you're easily peer pressured, then the 23rd annual Tattoo You Minnesota convention in Carlton this weekend may not have been the wisest choice for you.
However, organizers did say at least you'd be guaranteed award winning body art at the end of the day if you decided to go under the needle.
Attendees had their ink choice from over 100 artists spanning the state, and country, all at Black Bear Casino throughout the weekend.
On Sunday judges were busy judging the newest category to their tattoo competition: the "hero" category. Judges said anything from firefighters, to a tattoo of your own grandmother, could fall under the category.
Promoter David Nelson said, by Sunday, every artist had tattooed until they couldn't tattoo any more.
"They've been really busy," said Nelson. "They came here, they made their money back, and they're taking some home. So it's a good opportunity not only to get new clients from this area, but to get recognition in our contests, and win awards in our contest, as well."
In October, Tattoo You will travel to Hankinson, North Dakota for the first time, bringing many artists from their Minnesota show.
