Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Overnight storms across the Northland lit up the skies, left behind flooding and downed trees.
Lightning sent two trees crashing into a home in Cloquet. One tree, 40" in diameter, split the house in two.
In Douglas County, 100 to 200 residents are unable to reach their homes due to flooded roadways. The Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross opened a shelter Tuesday afternoon at the Superior Town Hall, located at 4917 South State Road 35.
