Washington, D.C. (NNCNOW.com) - President Obama has declared a major disaster following June's devastating floods across Minnesota.
The declaration calls for federal aid to help state and local recovery efforts in the impacted areas.
Damages so far, are estimated as $37 million, with roads and bridges suffering the most damage.
Currently eight counties, most of them in southern Minnesota, are included in the Presidential declaration.
More counties could be added as new damage assessments are submitted.
