(Northland's NewsCenter)---If you have something to say about the plans for re-directing Highway 53, now is your chance.
Public comments are being accepted by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
A middle route through the Auburn Pit and an eastern alternative going up around the Rouchleau Pit are outlined in the current scoping document.
A more detailed evaluation of the alternatives will be documented in the Environmental Impact Statement once the scoping phase of the project is complete.
Public comments will be heard on March 27, from 4-8 .p.m. at the Mountain Iron Community Center.
The written comment period will run through April 4.
