Hundreds of thousands of strollers from Peg Perego are being recalled due to reports of children becoming trapped and strangled between the trays on the stroller.
The company is recalling about 223,000 Venezia and Pliko-P3 strollers made between January 2004 and September 2007.
The company says a six month old died of strangulation in one of the strollers in 2004 and a seven month old was nearly strangled in 2006.
Only strollers with a child tray and one cup holder are part of the recall. Strollers with two cup holders are not part of the recall.
Consumers should stop using the strollers and contact Peg Perego for a free repair kit at 888-734-6020 or visit the company's website for more information.
